AJ WOODLAND has become the first St Edward’s School pupil to hit a double-century.
The sixth-former carried his bat for 50 overs to finish unbeaten on 204 in a 251-run win over Abingdon School.
Another record was broken in the match with Ben Charlesworth sharing a 310-run partnership with Woodland – the school’s highest.
Charlesworth’s 110 saw him become the first fourth-former to score two centuries for the 1st XI, while the total of 338-1 is the school’s highest in a 50-over game.
l FARAZ Amjad took 5-2 as Oxford Spires Academy dismissed King Alfred’s Wantage for 49 in the ESCA Under 15 Twenty20 Vase.
Wasif Hussain claimed 4-8 in a seven-wicket win.
In the Under 15 league, Dec Wastie, of Bartholomew (Eynsham), scored 83 not out from 39 balls as they eased to victory over Cherwell.
