OXFORD City became Thames Valley Winter League Ladies Division 1 champions by the narrowest possible margin, despite being unbeaten all season.
In their final match, City were pegged back to a 5-3 win against Blewbury, meaning they finished level on sets won with Cholsey.
City were awarded the title having been unbeaten and winning more games, which prevented Cholsey being back-to-back summer and winter champions.
The league started in 1973 when teenager Paul Neighbour helped his mum Angela start a six-team ladies competition. It now totals 160 teams.
Neighbour was presented with a token from the Oxfordshire LTA, after stepping down.
