JONJOE Kenny will stay at Oxford United for another month after agreeing an extenstion to his loan from Everton.

The full back, who turns 19 in March, has made eight appearances since joining in January after MK Dons recalled George Baldock.

The 28-day arrangement expired after Saturday's 2-1 win at AFC Wimbledon, but United had already made it clear to Everton they wanted to keep the former England Under 17 international.

Head coach Michael Appleton said: "Jonjoe has been good for us.

"He’s had a couple of games where he’s looked a bit leggy and has struggled, but he’s come through it with flying colours."

Kenny's only other senior experience came in a loan spell at Wigan Athletic earlier this season and there was no hesitation over staying at United to help their push for automatic promotion in Sky Bet League Two.

He said: "I’m over the moon.

"I’m loving my time here and I’ve played a lot of games in a month.

"The lads have been brilliant for me and I think that’s been the main part.

"It’s been easy to come in and play with this team."
