Charlie Quarterman, from the Oxford-based Zappi Race Team, recorded a dominant victory in the first round of the Spanish National Junior Series.
The 17-year-old Abingdon School sixth-former not only retained his title in the Junior Circuito del Guadiana, but also collected the King of the Mountains, the sprint and the ‘most combative rider’ crowns.
On the last climb, 20km from home, he broke away for victory.
With Adam Hartley coming fifth and Harry Rose 50th, Zappi won the team prize.
In the under 23 race, Zappi’s Seb Bayliss won King of the Mountains.
