CHINNOR shattered Taunton Titans’ 18-month unbeaten home record to climb out of the relegation zone with a 26-15 victory.

Matt Williams’ side climbed three places after recording a fourth win in five National League 2 South games.

Playing with a strong wind in the first half, it took only five minutes for the visitors to go 7-0 ahead.

A driving maul saw Ben Manning force his way over and Sam Angell converted.

Chinnor contained Taunton’s counter-attacks and made it 14-0 when Junior Fatialofa danced through and Angell added the extras.

The hosts reduced the deficit with Freddie Fraser crossing for an unconverted try.

Taunton used the wind to good effect immediately after the break and Gary Kingdom landed a three-pointer.

Ratu Vakalutukali was sin-binned for the hosts, but Sam Prior charged over.

Kingdom converted to give Titans a 15-14 lead.

The visitors responded and Oscar Heath crossed for an unconverted try.

And five minutes later, Chinnor grabbed the bonus point, with Jamie Townsend driving over and Angell adding the extras.

Henley’s woes continued in a 27-8 defeat away to 14-man Plymouth Albion in National League 1.

Nile Dacres capitalised on a Jamie Davies error to cross for Albion. Matt Shepherd converted to make it 7-0.

Hawks responded, with Tom Emery driving over, but an altercation resulted in Plymouth’s Marc Koteczky seeing red and Henley’s Tom Hall yellow.

Basil Strang’s penalty nudged the visitors 8-7 ahead, but they were unable to make the extra man count.

Shepherd’s three-pointer restored Albion’s lead.

Robin Wedlake’s unconverted try made it 15-8, before Ethan Ford dived over and Shepherd added the extras.

Ford then crossed for his second to finish the scoring.
