JACK Robinson scored a brilliant solo try as Oxford Harlequins recorded their first double of the season with a 10-3 victory at home to Maidenhead.

The visitors started strongly, but were contained by good work by No 8 Pete Alston and flanker Richard Battson.

But a Ryan Long penalty did see Maidenhead take the lead on 37 minutes.

Centre Keni Fisilau crossed for the hosts just after the break.

And the match was wrapped up when Robinson caught the ball off his own posts and went on a 90-metre jinking run to the line.

He beat five defenders before going over, ensuring Quins kept their unbeaten home record intact.

Witney secured a 21-3 win over Swindon at a wet and windy Hailey Road.

Kicking into the wind, the hosts were put under pressure early on, but they were first on the scoreboard.

From a line-out, No 8 Charlie Bennett slipped the ball to Scott Mortimer who slid over. Henry Lamb added the extras to make it 7-0.

Witney were pinned back in their half, but could only take three points through Adam Westall’s penalty.

With the wind in their favour after the break, the hosts made it 14-3 on 62 minutes.

After driving towards the line, Swindon’s scrum collapsed and a penalty try, converted by Lamb, was awarded.

Gareth Campbell then dived over, with Lamb adding the extras, to make it 21-3.

Struggling Grove lost 17-0 at bottom side Swanage & Wareham.
