OXFORD United are facing their biggest selection problem of the season after 13 fit players reported for training this morning.

Ryan Taylor, Jake Wright and Jordan Evans were already in the treatment room and several other issues have arisen in the wake of Saturday's 2-1 defeat to Accrington Stanley.

Michael Appleton felt one or two of the doubts would clear up in time to face Exeter City tomorrow, but is expecting to name a very youthful bench for the Sky Bet League Two clash.

He said: "I’ll know more by the end of play today, but it’s looking a little bit bleak on the injury front at the minute.

"Procs (Andrew Proctor, United's head of sports science and medicine) needs most of the morning and afternoon to get his head around some of the potential injuries we might have for tomorrow.

"It’s just about making sure with those who are fit we keep them fit going into the game and then assess (the other) players over the next 24 hours."

Appleton would not be drawn on the new players with fitness concerns, aside from top scorer Kemar Roofe, who has been substituted with a tight groin twice in the last three games.
