MATT Whichelow salvaged a 2-2 draw for Oxford City at Wealdstone with a stunning 90th-minute equaliser.

It appeared City were heading for a third straight away defeat in Vanarama National League South.

But Whichelow had other ideas, unleashing a ferocious 20-yard drive into the top corner to spark delirious celebrations.

It could have been better for City if they had been able to capitalise on their first-half dominance.

Former Oxford United midfielder Scott Davies crashed an effort against the bar for the hosts in the opening minute.

But City deservedly led after 35 minutes as Bradley Bubb hammered home from the penalty spot after being tripped in the area.

The lead lasted just four minutes, however, Bradley Hudson-Odoi nodding the equaliser.

Hudson-Odoi was on the mark again shortly after the break, racing onto a through ball to slot home.

But just as City were looking at another defeat, Whichelow struck to salvage a point.
