CHINNOR’S resurgence continued as they scored five tries to beat fellow strugglers Canterbury 39-26 at Kingsey Road.

After dominating the first half, they went onto secure a bonus-point victory, boosting their hopes of moving out of the National League 2 South drop zone.

Chinnor’s first score came after ten minutes when Henry Lamont scorched through.

Sam Angell converted and added a penalty to make it 10-0.

Oscar Heath intercepted a pass and galloped 80 metres for their second score, with Angell adding the extras.

And it was 27-0 when Junior Fatialofa danced through from 35 metres to go over.

Angell once again converted on the stroke of half-time.

Canterbury dominated the second half, coming out of the blocks quickly, with Courtney Horey crossing on 42 minutes.

Tom Best added the extras.

Moments later, Ollie Best went over, with Tom Best converting, to make it 27-14.

The hosts stopped the momentum when Angell scored an unconverted try off a collapsed maul.

And Chinnor made it 39-14 when Jack Adams crossed and Heath added the extras.

Canterbury refused to lie down and scored two tries late on through Tom Best and Harry Sayers, the former converting his own score, but it was not enough to overcome Chinnor’s lead.

Henley Hawks were unable to turn the National League 1 table on its head as they were crushed 36-0 by leaders Richmond.

Chris Davies was driven over for the first try on 18 minutes, before Charlie Lenygon powered over to make it 10-0.

Mateo Zambruno forced his way over on 43 minutes, with Robery Kirby adding the extras, and Davies dived over for his second to take the score to 22-0.

Timmy Walford added a fifth try, converted by Kirby, and James Small-Edwards crossed. Kirby added the extras to complete the scoring.
