JAMES Stacey was the star of the show as his superb century earned Sunningwell their first Steve Dixon Cup success with an 87-run win over West Ilsley at Wantage.
Stacey hammered 142 in Sunningwell’s 255 all out, before then claiming three catches as West Ilsley were bowled out for 168, despite 52 from John Bowness and 48 from Wayne Dibble.
In league action, Westbury are firm favourites to claim the Division 1 title after cruising to a seven-wicket victory at Cowley Internationals to go top of the table with a game in hand.
Graham Judd (4-29) and Richard Tredwell (4-32) combined to dismiss Cowley for 144, before Paul Atkins hit 79 and Olly Tice 59 to steer Westbury home at 148-3.
Josh Nix played a starring role for Great Horwood in their 103-run win at struggling Chadlington.
Nix hit 65 in Horwood’s 242-5, before claiming brilliant figures of 5-14 in 12 overs as the hosts were restricted to only 139-6 in reply.
Minster Lovell’s title hopes were left in tatters after they crashed to 86 all out and a four-wicket defeat at Oxenford.
Aaron Hirtenstein was chief destroyer, taking 4-19, and although Oxenford lost six wickets in their reply, they reached 89-6 to pull away from the bottom of the table.
Stonesfield upset hosts Radley with an 82-run victory, which knocked the losers off top spot.
Tim Wyatt hit 68 in Stonesfield’s 185-8, before Liam Hatton took 3-14 and Ed Oakley 3-32 in Radley’s 103 all out.
Shrivenham beat Charlbury by 130 runs.
Rob Wycherley top-scored with 68 to help the hosts to 207-5, and then Conor Taylor took 4-29, sending Charlbury crashing to 77 all out.
Chipping Norton closed the gap on Division 2 leaders Faringdon as they saw off visitors Marsh Gibbon by 26 runs.
Richard Ferley’s 48 not out was the main contribution in Chippy’s 132-7, before Mark Jarvis took 4-34 and Adam Wallington 3-17 to help dismiss Marsh Gibbon for 106.
East & West Hendred defeated hosts Wantage by 49 runs.
Hendred were bowled out for 219 as Mark Baring hit 59 and Barry Martin claimed 4-41.
Carl Palmer (3-21) and Andrew Francis (3-25) helped to dismiss Wantage for 170 in reply.
Broughton & North Newington defeated visitors Clifton Hampden by three wickets.
Clifton posted 205-6 with Richard Beard hitting 59 and Morley Benson 52.
Olly Evans then struck 72 for Broughton as they reached 206-7.
Wolvercote marched on towards the Division 3 title with a 91-run win at Eynsham.
Ben Proctor hit 98 not out and Sahil Agarwal 62 in Wolvercote’s 198-5, and then Rhys Davies claimed 4-36, helping to dismiss the home side for 107.
Wootton & Boars Hill’s Omar Hussain claimed 5-30, helping his side to a three-wicket win at Fringford.
The hosts were all out for 140, before Wootton reached 142-7, David Pearce hitting 43.
Tetsworth beat hosts Cairns Fudge by 57 runs.
Krunal Patel’s 88 helped Tetsworth to 213 all out, and then Nikunj Patel took 4-32 in Fudge’s 156 all out.
Westcott eased past hosts Hanborough by 69 runs.
Rehman Ullah scored 69 in Westcott’s 210-9, Richard Brown taking 6-47 for Hanborough.
Hanborough fell to 141 all out in reply, despite 43 from Will Potter.
Chesterton saw off Watlington by 25 runs.
In Division 4, leaders Kidlington suffered a rare defeat as they went down by 20 runs at Swinbrook.
The hosts were restricted to 147-9, Rupert Grace top-scoring with 52.
But Kidlington fared worse as they were shot out for 127 as Ben Coombs took 3-21 and Andrew Wingfield Digby 3-46.
A six-wicket haul from Stuart Leece was in vain for Deddington, who went down by two wickets at home to Stanton Harcourt.
After Deddington crawled to only 117-8, Stuart Leece took 6-19 in Stanton’s reply, but they reached 118-8, thanks to 46 not out from Charlie Waite.
Kilkenny condemned basement boys Britwell Salome to a 100-run defeat, confirming Britwell’s relegation.
Thomas Valentine’s 84 not out helped Kilkenny to 210-7, and in reply, Britwell could muster only 110-8, thanks largely to three wickets apiece for Darren Gordon and Chris May.
Lawrence Belcher’s 4-29 helped Dorchester to a three-wicket win at Marcham.
The hosts were dismissed for 143, before Dorchester reached 146-7, led by Mike Ottrey (45) and Adrian Redhead (42).
Meanwhile, Dave Gardner returned amazing figures of 5-0 from six overs as Combe crushed Chadlington 2nd by 248 runs to go top of Division 8.
Chris Moore (107) and Jonny Bourchier (83no) helped Combe to a massive 320-4.
And with Gardner on fire, Chadlington were bowled out for just 72.
Uffington 2nd beat Minster Lovell 3rd by five wickets.
Neil Spearman hit 101 not out in Minster’s 203-4, but Uffington got home thanks to Simon Clark (113no).
Finlay Boland hit 100 not out in Witney Swifts 2nd’s 108-run win at Wootton & Boars Hill 2nd.
Swifts posted 204-6, before Graeme Woodward claimed 6-16 in Wootton’s 96 all out.
Division 5 leaders Sunningwell fell to only their second defeat in 14 games as they crashed to a five-wicket loss at Kennington, where they were restricted to 147-7.
Kennington reached 148-5 as Jack Spencer-Matthews hit 51.
Minster Lovell 2nd closed the gap with a four-wicket win at Charlbury 2nd.
Ben Spencer (4-19) and Chris Morgan (4-33) helped to bowl Charlbury out for 100, before Tim Jarvis hit 37 not out as Minster reached 102-6.
In Division 6, superb centuries from Andrew Lees and Dan Willett helped leaders Westbury 2nd to a mammoth 334-6 at home to Chipping Norton 2nd.
George Markham then claimed 4-19 as Chippy were bowled out for 124.
Bampton were indebted to Grant Print’s 91 as they saw off Kidlington 2nd by 32 runs.
Dave Newton hammered 127 not out as Shrivenham beat hosts Hanney with two balls left by three wickets.
In Division 7, Radley 2nd and Cowley Internationals 2nd battled out an exciting tie.
Darren Jones made 87 in Radley’s 206 all out, before Marni Abassi scored 62 in Cowley’s reply as they reached the same score with eight wickets down.
Kilkenny 2nd kept their lead at the top of Division 9 with a four-wicket win at Sunningwell 2nd, thanks to Gary Doggett’s 70 not out.
In Division 10, Stanton Harcourt 2nd defeated Deddington 2nd by 96 runs to maintain their promotion bid.
Jake Souch made 46 in Stanton’s 180 all out, then took 3-5 as Deddington were bowled out for 84.
