Aston Rowant slumped to the foot of the Division 2 table after they were forced to settle for a draw at home to Gerrards Cross on Saturday.
Cove’s win at Amersham saw the hosts slip to bottom spot.
It looked quite promising as the hosts set a competitive total of 249-8, but they were unable to force victory as the visitors dug in.
Although they lost Tim Morgan early on, a second-wicket partnership of 71 between Damian Shirazi and Daniel Matthews saw Rowant make strides.
When Shirazi was bowled for 42, wickets fell steadily before a 74-run stand between Wes Morrick and Leo Bethell saw Rowant post 249-8 from their 58 overs.
Bethell made the first breakthrough when he trapped opener Justin Hampshire lbw, before Morrick (3-49) removed James Crosthwaite to leave the visitors at 21-2.
Wickets fell regularly and when Ben Lane was bowled by Gordon Harris Gerrards Cross were 86-5.
But a 44-run partnership between Sam Westaway and Sam Bracey saw them recover to 130-6.
Westaway (51no) and Jamie Hoddle, the son of former England boss Glenn, with an unbeaten 30, saw Gerrards Cross hold on at 172-6.
The draw leaves Rowant, who have won just once this season, eight points adrift at the bottom.
