Oxford United’s pre-season friendly against Coventry City will now take place at Nuneaton Town on Saturday 1st August (3pm).
The game was originally scheduled to be played at the Kassam Stadium, but with a new pitch being laid, the match has been switched to ensure that the playing surface is in the best possible condition for the season opener the following weekend when the U’s welcome Crawley Town in Sky Bet League 2.
Coventry have an identical new Xtragrass pitch this summer and are also at home on the opening day, against Wigan Athletic.
United Chief Executive Mark Ashton said: “A lot of work has gone into the pitches at both clubs and we want to make sure they are right for the first League game, so it makes sense to leave it for as long as possible."
The game will be played at Liberty Way, Nuneaton, Warks, CV11 6RR.
Oxford fans will be in the Loans To Go Stand, a covered terrace, with admission £10 adults, £3 under 16s and FREE for under 10s accompanied by an adult.
