Ben Goodall produced a career-best performance to claim gold at the British Gymnastics Spring event at the EIS Arena in Sheffield.
The 16-year-old from Harwell performed the two highestdifficulty tumble runs of his career to take gold by 0.5 points in the boys’ age 17-18 category.
Competing just five days after his AS Level exams at King Alfred’s Academy, Wantage, he landed his two tumble runs with very good execution.
Carrying a tariff score of 6.7 and 6.3 respectively, Goodall received a total score of 66.3 once his execution marks had been added, earning his highest score in national competition.
Goodall’s attention now turns to preparations for the British Championship finals in Liverpool in September, which came a week after trials for the GB team for the 2015 World Championships in Denmark
