JON Rusk overcame a weather delay to become the Jack Acres champion at Frilford Heath.
Storms prevented the 36-hole competition from being completed on Saturday, so the field returned to finish on Sunday.
Rusk carded a round of 73 on the Red Course and 71 on the Green for a nett 138 to win the trophy, named after Frilford’s former captain and club secretary.
He beat Cameron More on countback, while Phil Wilde was third on 141.
- JOE Pepperell and playing partner Alan Bray won the Oxford Golf Club qualifying round of the Lombard Trophy.
The pair’s 39 points booked a place in the regional final at Northamptonshire County GC on June 29, where the top 16 will secure a spot at the final in Gleneagles this September.
Also in the field at Northampton will be Waterstock’s winners Charlie Flavin and Paul Bryant.
