Sasha Barras picked up 6-63 for Aston Rowant, who then suffered a dramatic collapse before rain proved their saviour in a draw at Amersham in Division 2.
Having put their fellow strugglers in to bat, Rowant watched Amersham make 235-8 off their 58 overs.
Barras pegged them back with 6-63 off 21 overs with his left-arm spin.
But Rowant made a disastrous start to their reply, crashing to 21-5.
Chris Watling and Barras stopped the rot, but they were still facing defeat at 93-7 with 17 overs left when the heavens opened.
Amersham’s innings was built around a painstaking 57 from Andrew Viney, whose runs came off 134 balls with four boundaries.
Opener Bruce Friderichs weighed in with 39, and there was a breezy 34 from Maduka Liyanapathiranage, before Jack Rogers provided the final flourish.
Rowant’s reply was quickly in tatters with Tim Morgan run out by Liyanapathiranage for one, before Richard Cook and Dan Matthews fell for ducks.
Skipper Josh Smith and Andrew Tolson also went cheaply, but Rowant fought back and then the rain arrived.
