Great & Little Tew remain top of Division 2 after beating Gerrards Cross by five wickets on Saturday.

A fine display with the ball, after the visitors opted to bat first, saw Tew dismiss their rivals for just 134 off 50.4 overs.

A second-wicket partnership of 52 between Jordan Garrett and Martin Coetzee set them on their way, before Ashley Hubbert and Andy Harris saw them home in the 19th over.

Lawrence Brock bowled Sam Westaway to leave Gerrards Cross on 0-1, before Matt Woods had Alistair Birkby caught by Harry Smith.

No batsman was able to get going, the highest partnership of 37 coming for the eighth wicket between Jamie Hoddle (36), son of former England football manager Glenn, and Richard Knudsen (20).

However, that stand was ended when Joe White bowled Hoddle, the off-spinner then mopping up the tail to finish with 3-4 off 2.4 overs.

Woods returned 3-43 off 19 tidy overs.

Hoddle quickly got revenge on White, having the opener caught by Sam Bracey for just two.

But Garrett and Coetzee steadied the ship with a fine partnership.

There was a stutter after Coetzee fell with the score on 61, Curtly Slatter and Harry Smith going cheaply.

When Garrett was next out for 40, which came off 41 balls, Tew were on 97-5.

But Hubbert hit an unbeaten 32 off 27 deliveries and Harris 13 off nine balls to guide the hosts home.
