Oxfordshire suffered contrasting defeats to Scotland and Worcestershire in Division 3 of the ECB Women’s County Championship T20 at Bicester & North Oxford on Sunday.
The hosts gave Scotland a run for their money before losing in the 19th over.
Led by Eleanor Ingram’s 46 off 38 balls, Oxon made 109-9 from their 20 overs, with only Genny Porter (20) joining her in double figures.
A superb spell of 3-8 in four overs by Ellie Norton made Scotland work for their runs, before securing victory at 112-5 after 19 overs.
In the other match, Worcestershire rattled up 158-4 thanks largely to Lauren Rowles (67) and Thea Brookes (46).
Oxon could muster only 85-5 in reply, Rhian Todd top-scoring with 28 not out.
Scores Oxfordshire 109-9 (20 ovs, E Ingram 46, R Scholes 4-21), Scotland 112-5 (19 ovs, A Drummond 31no, E Norton 3-8).
Worcestershire 158-4 (20 ovs, L Rowles 67, T Brookes 46, G Porter 3-19), Oxfordshire 85-5 (20 ovs, S Ruck 4-16).
Oxford CC and Oxford University go head-to-head in the Town v Gown clash at Marston Road sports ground today.
In the first such contest for many years, the teams will be playing for the City Plate, provided by Oxford City Council.
The 50-over match begins at 11am.
