Didcot Town joint manager Ian Concannon has hailed the capture of defender Marvin Martin and goalkeeper Leigh Bedwell from Banbury United.
Former Oxford United scholar Martin won promotion from the Southern League Premier Division with Oxford City in 2012.
He made 51 appearances in all competitions for relegated Banbury last season, while ex-Swindon Town keeper Bedwell was also an ever-present for the Puritans with 52 starts.
Concannon believes signing the pair from their Division 1 South & West rivals will help the Railwaymen become promotion contenders next season.
He said: “We heard rumours that Leigh had become available, so we made a move for him.
“He’s a Wantage boy, so it’s a local move for him and we were able to persuade him to come to Didcot.
“We spoke to Marvin earlier in the summer and had a couple of very positive chats.
“He’s got a good left foot, but most importantly he’s a good lad and he should fit in well here.”
Concannon, who shares management duties with Jamie Heapy, added: “We want to get Didcot out of this league. We’re not just here to make up the numbers and we want players to come along for the ride.
“Players can see our enthusiasm for the club and they’re buying into it.”
