CRICKET: Taylor crashes terrific ton as Shrivenham crush Oxenford

Taylor bludgeoned 103 and Sanjay Chauhan hit 43 to help the hosts post a formidable 270-7 from their 45 overs.

Oxenford were never in the hunt as they crashed to 156 all out, Chauhan returning brilliant figures of 6-17 from 7.2 overs.

Minster Lovell consolidated their position at the top after a crushing 128-run victory at home to Cowley Internationals, who are still seeking their first league win.

New signing Dave Prosper hammered 76 and Ed Dunn 40 in Minster’s 276-8.

Despite an unbeaten 51 from Hajji Sadiqi, Cowley never got close as they crawled to 148-7 in reply, off spinner Jack Simpson taking 3-23 and Brian Barrett 3-28.

Great Horwood moved up to second place after ending Radley’s 100 per cent record.

The hosts posted 202-9 as Sam Willett struck 41 and Ian McStraw 34 not out, Atif Liaqat taking 5-32.

In reply, Radley’s Matt Launchbury hit 38, but 4-37 from Horwood’s Dale Armitage helped restrict the visitors to 176-9.

Chadlington picked up their first win of the season, beating local rivals Charlbury by 17 runs.
Jason Ratcliffe hit 93 and Mark Lambert 56 as the hosts reached 234-5.

Charlbury got close, thanks to the efforts of Graham Atkins (48) and Ashley Rump (33), only to fall to 217 all out, Martin Shepherd taking 3-45.

Chipping Norton stayed top of Division 2 after cruising to a nine-wicket victory at home to Garsington.
The visitors were shot out for just 69 as Adam Wallington took 5-27.

Chippy then raced to 73-1, with Mark Usher hitting 35 not out.
Faringdon won a high-scoring clash at home to Clifton Hampden by 18 runs.

Nick Giles (90) and Kevin Huxtable (75) shone in the home side’s 280-7.
Clifton put up a fine chase, but finished short on 262-7, despite a sparkling century from Andrew Pynegar (122).

East & West Hendred were buoyant after coming away from Witney Swifts with a two-wicket triumph.
Josh Grant (65no) led Swifts to 171-7.
But Hendred reached 172-8 with three balls to spare to seal victory, Jon Francis top-scoring with 33.

Wootton & Boars Hill stretched their lead at the top of Division 3 after walloping Watlington by seven wickets.

The hosts were skittled out for just 48, Mick Wiskin taking 4-6.

Wootton then took just 10.1 overs to reach their target.

Westcott chased down Fringford’s total of 192-7 with just four balls to spare to seal a three-wicket win.

John Bacon top-scored with 78 for the hosts, only for Nick Raynor (46no) to steer Westcott to 193-7.

Tom Small had a great day for Cairns Fudge, who ran out three-wicket winners at home to Chesterton.

Small took 5-28 to help dismiss the visitors for 121, before hitting 42 not out as Fudge reached 124-7.

Nikunj Patel’s five-wicket haul helped Tetsworth to a 69-run win at Eynsham.

Tetsworth set 221-8 as Rana Mehul hit 53 not out.

Eynsham fell to 152 all out in reply as Patel took 5-30.

Hanborough ended Wolvercote’s unbeaten record with a five-wicket home victory.

Ben Proctor hit 50 and Toby Shelley 39 not out as Wolvercote struggled to 125-8.

Marc Buckingham (38) and Matthew Neilsen (30) then set Hanborough on the way to 126-5.

George Grace struck a brilliant unbeaten century to help Swinbrook to the top of Division 4 with a 55-run win at home to Britwell Salome.

Grace hit 103 not out and Tom Julian 55 as Swinbrook set 248-8, Neil Lawrence taking 5-42.

Stuart Symes struck 54 in Britwell’s reply, but they finished short on 193-9 as Jack Morland took 4-54.

Kidlington are second after a nine-wicket win at Hailey.

Steve Litten took 4-49 as Hailey were rolled over for 115, before Andy Oliver (61no) and Tom Bozman (36) led Kidlington to 117-1.

Kilkenny romped to a ten-wicket success at home to Dorchester.

Bradley Bryant took 4-51 and Dwayne Knipe 3-0 to help dismiss Dorchester for 127, but Duncan Macdonald (60no) and Chris May (46no) eased Kilkenny to 128-0.

Andy Radcliffe’s half-century helped Uffington to a four-wicket victory at Deddington.

The hosts were restricted to 147-8, with Adam Shorten capturing 3-38.

Radcliffe hit 56 and Martin Key 34 not out in Uffington’s 151-6.

Stanton Harcourt beat hosts Marcham by 56 runs.

Andy Walker hit 85 not out and Luke Pettifer’s 54 in Stanton’s 223-7.

The hosts fell to 167 all out in reply, Pettifer taking 3-34.

West Witney stayed top of Division 5 after a three-wicket win at Garsington 2nd.

The home side got off to a shaky start at 5-2, before Stephen Prew’s 104 helped them to 203 all out.

Rhys Jones (62no) and Greg Inge (60) then led West Witney to 207-7 and victory.

Sunningwell kept up the pressure on the leaders with a seven-wicket win at Steventon.

Dominic Whinfrey took 3-39 and Sam Baker 3-44 as the home side were restrictedto 152-7.

Baker then made 73 and Thomas Harris 52 as Sunningwell reached 154-3.

Hook Norton saw off hosts Charlbury 2nd by 79 runs.

Tim Lunel (74) and Jason Davis (52) saw Hooky to 212-7, Dean Warner-Carter with 5-52.

Craig Moss struck 54 not out in Charlbury’s reply, but they finished on 133-5.

Jacob Mayers hit an unbeaten 96 to help Minster Lovell 2nd to a thrilling five-run win at West Ilsley.

Rob Lawson (59) and John Bowness (57) got Ilsley close to Minster’s 203-8, but they finished agonisingly short on 198-9, Lawrence Allen taking 3-28.

Kidlington 2nd top Division 6 after beating previous leaders Chipping Norton 2nd by 56 runs.

Simon Townsend (69) and Sam Rodway (52) led the hosts to 226-9.

Chippy then fell to 170 all out, despite 50 from Sam Townsend as Sam Rodway took 4-35 and Jim Blackford 4-36.

Andy Liddiard took 6-34 for Faringdon 2nd in their 70-run win at Hanney.

Choosing to bat, Faringdon posted    206-7, thanks largely to a 100-run third wicket stand between

Pierce Batchelor (65) and Roger Clarke (52).

James Hilliam took 5-45 for Hanney, who then succumbed to Liddiard.

Brill eased to a 56-run home win against Bampton.

Andy Wynd hit 34 in Brill’s 155-9, before taking 4-29 as Bampton were shot out for 99, Ollie Bates weighing in with 4-19.

Westbury 2nd saw off visitors Great Horwood 2nd by six wickets.
Chasing Horwood’s below-par 100 all out, Westbury eased home at 105-4, thanks to Dan Willett (32no) and Michael Markham (31).

Meanwhile, nearly 600 runs were scored at East & West Hendred 2nd, who ran out 38-run victors over Cowley Internationals 2nd in Division 7.

Hendred amassed a huge 314-9 as Nigel Hutt smashed 109 and Jamie Hollier 69.

Abubakar Khan hit 100 and Habib Mohammed 68 for Cowley, who finished on 276-9, Chris Benoit taking 6-59.

Stonesfield 2nd came out on top in a tight contest against visitors Hanborough 2nd.

Hanborough posted 203-6 as Ben Wagerfield hit 58, while Sean Holley took 3-28.

He then top-scored with 67 to help Stonesfield to 204-6.

Tetsworth 2nd edged past Oxenford 2nd by one wicket.

Philmore Miller (3-7) and Hamid Abdul (3-18) combined to dismiss Oxenford for 120.

Tetsworth got home at 124-9, Harinath Ellanki taking 5-27.

Muzammil Rehman hit 102 to help Radley to a 161-run victory at Wolvercote 2nd.

Radley were bowled out for 239, Naseer Khan taking 4-12.

But Wolvercote crashed to 78 all out, Richard Cook and Darren Jones taking four wickets each.

In Division 8, Combe crushed Swinbrook 2nd by 142 runs.

Combe posted 177-9, Ryan Dadge taking 5-40.

However, Mike Eeley’s 6-6 saw Swinbrook all out for 35.

Wootton & Boars Hill 2nd amassed 357-4 at home to Uffington 2nd.

Gerrard Whittaker hit 97, Marcus Charman 92 not out and Mark Taylor 74 in Wootton’s big total, before Uffington were dismissed for 96, Steve Willis top-scoring with 61.

A fantastic all-round display from Najmi Zeeshan was not enough as Hanney 2nd went down to a 55-run defeat at Sunningwell in Division 9.

Sunningwell’s veteran batsman Geoff Corps scored 103 and Nigel Lovell 82 as Sunningwell rattled up 253-6, Zeeshan taking 4-31.

Zeeshan then made an excellent 121, but the visitors fell to 198 all out, George Goodenough and James Morrell both taking 3-31.

Risinghurst stayed top after a 139-run win at home to Marcham 2nd.

Scott Thomas hit 80 and Raj Kumar 62 in Risinghurst’s 252-6.

Marcham never got going in their reply, as they closed on 113-7, thanks to some tight bowling from Asif Khan (4- 14).

Kilkenny ran out six-wicket winners away to Chesterton 2nd.

Steve Poole’s 4-18 helped to dismiss the hosts for 147, before Dave Bower (49) and Richard Green (45) led Kilkenny to 150-4.

A half-century from Seth Osborne (56) helped Eynsham 2nd to a 70-run win at Dorchester 2nd.

Eynsham set 192 all out, and Dorchester fell to 122 all out in reply as Aaron McCreadie took 5-24.

In Division 10, Stanton Harcourt 2nd defeated visitors Charlbury 3rd by 63 runs.

Rob Graham’s patient 48 helped Stanton reach 193-7, while Cameron Newton-Grain took 4-33.

Charlbury struggled in their reply, finishing on 130-9, the highlight of which was a 61- run last wicket stand between Alasdair Harley (63no) and Jacqui Mayho (18).
