Oxford City Lions manager Enrique Guillen said the manner of his side’s defeat at the FA National Futsal League grand finals has made him more determined than ever to bring the club success.
Lions were beaten 2-0 by Birmingham in the semi-final at St George’s Park, Burton, leaving Guillen’s hopes shattered.
“We went out of the competition without showing our best and that’s a disappointment,” he said.
The defeat meant that Lions, who had topped Super League Group A, failed to reach the final, leaving Guillen bemused by his side’s performance.

He said: “These players are good players, we have a good team and we did well to win a really tough group in the Super League, but they didn’t show that commitment or strength.
“We need to discuss where it went wrong and why we didn’t perform as well as we have been performing for the whole year.”
Guillen said the defeat hurt, but only made Lions more hungry to put things right when they play in the FA Futsal Cup finals weekend at the Copperbox Arena in London on June 20 and 21.
