ZUBAIR Hoque and Jordan Albert each secured a podium position for the Chipping Norton-based SWR team in the Duo BRDC Formula 4 Championship at Rockingham.
And the fine results were achieved despite below-par qualifying for the 18-year-old teammates, Albert ending the session third fastest and Hoque seventh.
Some on-track dramas resulted in a mixed outcome for both racers, but third for Albert in a rain-affected fifth round and the same position for Hoque in the dry sixth round later in the day confirmed their championship potential.
Hoque battled the discomfort of an injured wrist, making his maiden podium all the more impressive.
“It’s been a good weekend,” said team owner Sean Walkinshaw.
“It could have been better, but it’s still good to get a couple of podiums and the pace shown by Jordan and Zubair has been great.

“Both guys are driving very well and it’s just unfortunate they each encountered some contact.
“We know we have the car and the drivers to be regularly at the front fighting for wins and podiums.”
Next on the calendar is a visit to the team’s home track of Silverstone over the weekend of May 30-31 for rounds seven, eight and nine.
