BANBURY’S John Spratt won through to the 65 and over quarter-finals in the British Open Seniors Indoor Championships, played at Brierley.
Spratt, ranked fifth in UK, now faces the No 1 Gerd Dahman, from Germany.
In the Over 45s event, Rob Loosemore (Oxford) reached the second round as did clubmate Christian Petersen in the over 40s.
- ARTHUR Manson, of North Oxford, won his first nine and under grade 4 title at Gosling, beating Hertfordshire’s Dylan Warren-Cafferty 7-4, 5-7, 8-6 in the final.
- NORTH Oxford retained their three-point lead over Oxford Sports in the Thames Valley Winter League Men’s Premier Division after both secured 8-0 victories.
