OXFORD United’s sobering defeat to Southend United last weekend prompted an extensive squad meeting on Monday, according to Johnny Mullins.
The 3-2 loss to a side with ten men at the Kassam Stadium was the lowest point of the season to date.
United always analyse games at the start of the week, but the 29-year-old defender admitted the result led to a lengthy team discussion to air the issues.
He said: “The manager told us what he thought.
“What I like is we deal with the disappointment but we move on because the longer it’s left to linger the more problems and issues can come from it.
“We know it’s a disappointment, we’re not silly and we’re just looking to go again on Saturday.
“I don’t want to sound like a broken record, but that’s all we can do.
“I don’t think you ever come out of a meeting thinking you’ve got all the answers, but you come out a bit fresher.
“We’ve dealt with it and we have to move on quickly.”
