Steve Sheard remained undefeated as Kennington raced to a 5-0 home win over Berinsfield Club to open up a four-point lead at the top of the Premier Section in the Johnsons Buildbase Oxford League, writes Pete Ewins.
Sheard (8,670, break 7,300) was joined by Kevin Godfrey (11,400, break 8,690), Ian Gordon (7,000), Mark Trafford (11,820, break 7,760) and Pauline Withey in Kennington's five-star show.
Nearest challengers Vikings Club crashed to a 4-1 home defeat against Section 1 leaders Masons.
In a low-scoring match only Lewis Stratford got to grips with the table by scoring 11,590, including a break of 6,400.
West Oxford Democrats Club are now four points behind Vikings after whitewashing Marlborough Club 5-0.
John Patey (6,020), Terry Green (4,260), Bill Hill (9,060, break 7,400), Eddie Tebby (3,670) and Richard Garrett (7,650, break 5,420) were in splendid form for the hosts.
Grant Johnson posted the highest away score this season in Section 2 with 8,650, but it couldn't save Gladiators B from a 3-2 defeat at leaders Headington Conservative Club.
