FORMER Oxford United chairman Kelvin Thomas is back in football - with Conference side Torquay United.
Thomas, who is based in Florida, has joined the Gulls in a consultancy role, looking at all aspects of the club.
He will advise Torquay chairman Thea Bristow who, with her late husband Paul, has been supporting the club financially since 2007.
The pair won £15m on the National Lottery, but Thea took on the burden alone since Paul died in 2010.
“It is well known that I have been subsidising the club for three years and I would like to make some changes, so that the club can grow in a more sustainable manner,” Bristow said.
“Kelvin has been highly recommended in this role and I am looking forward to working with him over the next few weeks.”
Thomas added: “I will spend the next few days meeting all the staff and stakeholders, and I am excited to learn more about Torquay United.”
