FORMER Oxford United midfielder Ken Hale has died, aged 75.
The U’s paid £8,000 for the ex-Newcastle United apprentice, who joined from Coventry in March 1966.
Hale (pictured) went on to make 72 appearances in the next two years, scoring 13 goals before moving to Darlington.
After retiring, he became manager at Hartlepool United in 1974, overseeing 119 games.
