Oxford City boss Justin Merritt has pledged to attack Woking in their FA Trophy second round replay tonight, writes MATTHEW BRUCE.

Few would have City down as favourites to win away to the full-time Vanarama Conference high-fliers, but after their stunning comeback at Marsh Lane on Saturday, Merritt feels the momentum is with his side.

City’s general manager said: “We’ve only been beaten once in our last nine games and we want to keep that run going of getting positive result after positive result.

“Woking, for all their quality, haven’t won in six and you could see that on Saturday.

“When our second goal went in some of their players were blaming each other and arguing amongst themselves and that’s what happens when you haven’t won for a while.

“We’re going to try and frustrate them and if we can get the first goal it could be a very interesting tie.”

Merritt added: “I thought we were too conservative in the first half an hour on Saturday, so we’re going to set up slightly differently this time and we’re going to try and get on the front foot straight away. We’ve got nothing to fear and nothing to lose.”

The winners will host Conference side Dover Athletic in the third round on January 24.

But if City are to achieve an upset they will have to do so with a makeshift side, missing several key players.

Striker Adi Yussuf, scorer of 19 goals so far this season in all competitions, is a doubt with a tight hamstring and midfielder Mamadou Fofana misses out after coming off injured on Saturday.

Defender Jose Lapoujade is also unavailable as he has to return to Spain following a family bereavement.

Full-back Lee Henderson serves the second match of his three-game suspension, but Paul Stonehouse returns following his ban, with midfielder Javier Rodriguez also back after being unavailable on Saturday.
