WILL Sharratt’s 59th-minute penalty was all Oxford Harlequins had to show for their efforts as they lost 20-3 at home to Bracknell in National 3 South West.
Both defences held the upper hand in a hard-fought game and it took 24 minutes before Owain Davies kicked the visitors into the lead.
Bracknell made it 8-0 when scrum half Barry Dwyer touched down just before half-time.
Quins defended well after the restart until a lapse in concentration allowed Stuart Mackay to score.
Davies converted to make it 15-0 and although Quins got on the board through Sharratt, it failed to inspire a comeback.
Bracknell claimed a bonus point through Joe Price with the last play of the game.
