PORTSMOUTH boss Andy Awford says there has been no move for out-of-favour Oxford United winger Alfie Potter - but did not rule it out.
Last week U’s head coach Michael Appleton revealed the 26-year-old was available, saying his “shelf life” at the club might be up.
He quickly became linked with a move to Portsmouth, against whom he turned in one of his best performances for United in scoring twice and setting up another two goals in a 4-1 Fratton Park win last season.
Awford, a former U’s coach, was asked about the speculation after Portsmouth’s 1-0 defeat at Newport County on Saturday.

Latest United news:
While he stressed to The News no contact had been made with United, the door was left open on a potential move.
He said: “Nobody has spoken to Oxford about Alfie.
“I am not saying I am not interested but at the moment we haven’t spoken to him.
“He’s a good player, obviously. But he’s Oxford’s player and it’s not right for me to comment on other peoples’ players.”
Potter was also linked with a switch to Northampton Town and a reunion with Chris Wilder, who brought him to the Kassam Stadium.
But the ex-United manager is not in the market.
He told the Northampton Chronicle: “We’re not looking.
“We’ve got Chris Hackett who can play either side and we’ve got a little bit of flexibility with Ricky (Holmes) who can play in behind or on both as well, plus Lawson (D’Ath) as well so we have three for two there if we go with that shape.”
