BEN Claridge boosted his chances of winning the Oxford Mail Cross County League men’s under 17 title with a super display at Culham Park.
The White Horse Harrier triumphed in a time of 17mins 31secs to turn up the heat on Oxford City’s Callum Bampton, who did not compete.
Claridge was a massive 56 seconds ahead of Nat Jones (Oxford City), with Radley’s Archie Scott and further 22 seconds adrift in third.
Radley’s Ben Cumberland maintained his advantage in the under 11 standings with a second win of the season.
Cumberland proved just too quick for Bicester’s Freddie Taylor and William D’Arcy, also of Radley.
In the under 13 girls’ race, Oxford City’s Alex Scrivener produced an impressive display to run out a commanding winner.
Crossing the line in 9.58, Scrivener finished 14 seconds ahead of Bicester’s Amy Gould, with Oxford City clubmate Daisy Palmer in third.
