PETE Browne has backed London Welsh’s coaches to turn round the club’s fortunes after a dismal start to the Aviva Premiership season.
Browne was in the Welsh side who won promotion from the Championship in June under head coach Justin Burnell and his assistants Gordon Ross and Ollie Smith.
The same back-room team, plus scrum coach Matt Ferguson, have overseen five heavy top-flight defeats, but the lock/flanker says they are the right people to lead a recovery.
“They are doing a good job. We have got a great coaching staff,” said Browne.

“We have got a really talented coaching unit and they work really well together.
“We have got to keep doing what we are doing and listen to them.”
Basement boys Welsh host second-from-bottom Newcastle Falcons in a crunch clash at the Kassam Stadium on Saturday.
Browne, who is a former Newcastle player, remains bullish the Exiles can stay up, despite their poor start to the campaign.
“Saturday is big, but it’s not the be all and end all,” he said.
“We go into every game looking to win.”
Asked about Welsh’s survival chances, Browne replied: “No doubt at all.
“I have no doubt that we are more than capable of staying up and more than capable of winning games.
“We have just got to produce it on the pitch.
“There is a really good spirit around the club and there are two things you can do when there is adversity.
“You can fall apart or get yourselves together and fight. We will do the latter.”
Welsh’s five defeats have left players, coaches and supporters frustrated, but Browne insists there have been some positives.
“In every game there have been points where we have done really well and now we have got to do that for 80 minutes,” he said.
“Last year we were winning week in, week out. We have to take inspiration from that.”
He added: “If we learn our lessons, then we’ll stop making those mistakes.”
