OXFORD United are unsure how long Jake Wright will be on the sidelines following a knee injury the captain picked up in training last week, writes DAVID PRITCHARD.
The 28-year-old tweaked a medial ligament last Thursday and pulled out of training.
He thought it had improved overnight and began Friday’s session, but immediately withdrew and missed Saturday’s 1-0 win at home to Newport County.
U’s head coach Michael Appleton admitted it was unclear how long it would take before the centre back could return to action.

He said: “I’ve got no idea. I don’t think it’s a bad one because he stopped as soon as he started to feel it again.
“It’s one of those where you’ve really got to rest it until it’s right before you start working it.”
MIchael Raynes is expected to continue in the side in Wright’s place, following an excellent display against Newport.

But the away end at Brunton Park is likely to be busier than it will be on Saturday, when they host Stevenage.
