Bobby Stewart tuned up for the Oxford Winter League season by winning the practice match on the Thames at Abingdon and Culham.
The Isis angler drew first peg above Abingdon bridge and caught 21lb 9oz of big perch on pole and worm over chopped worm feed.
Runner-up in the 45-strong field was Martin Phipps (Drennan Banbury Gunsmiths) with 17.5.0 of skimmer bream. Third came John Taylor (Tubertini Apollo) with 17.1.0.
There was a rare tie for top spot when eight Tackley Estates anglers fished The Lince on the Cherwell.
Stephen Malone and Anthony Elder recorded an identical 4.10.0 of roach and perch on ple and maggot.
John Spencer was just behind in third with 4.3.0.
Kevin Jeacock won Beehive AC’s Match & Cup Winners Cup at Frobury Farm.
In perfect conditions, he recorded a splendid 106.0.0 of carp and perch to pole groundbait and maggot.
Bob Alder was second with 72.0.0, while Tim Belcher came third with 62.0.
