Banbury United manager Paul Davis has applauded the attitude of his players as they aim to make it back to back wins away to Truro City tomorrow.
Davis was critical of his Southern League Premier Division side after last weekend’s 3-0 FA Cup exit at Conference South side Weston-super-Mare, but was delighted by their positive reaction in midweek when they beat Cambridge City 2-0 at Spencer Stadium.
And now he wants more of the same at Truro.
“It’s never good to have an off-day (at Weston) and it was important we got a response,” said Davis.
“Hopefully, it’s the start of things to come and we can get on a roll.
“It’s a long trip – we’re leaving at 7am – but then they have to travel to us.
“We’ll be on the coach for six hours and coming back, it could be a long six hours or a short six hours, depending on how we do.”
Meanwhile, Davis says Shepherd Murombedzi has been unaffected speculation about his future affect his displays on the field.
Trials at Leyton Orient and Mansfield Town proved unsuccessful.
Davis added: “He lacks a bit of fitness, because he hasn’t played, but he’s a tremedous talent.
“He did well for us on Tuesday.”
Banbury Utd (v Truro City, away): from Bedwell, Cray, Mzungwana, Fishwick, Westbrook, Howards, Hawtin, Shama, Walcott, Browne, Katsoloudi, Houston, Tappin, Ryan, Wickham, Murombedzi.
