Oxfordshire's Bradley Smith equalled his best finish in MotoGP by coming fifth at a rain-affected Aragon Grand Prix in Spain won by Jorge Lorenzo.
The 23-year-old, from Forest Hill, near Oxford, began the race which was initially dry, from 11th on the grid as he looked to surge through the field.
However, the Monster Yamaha Tech3 star had to undertake evasive action to avoid colliding with another rider, which caused him to slip down to 20th at the end of the first lap.
But he then proceeded to overtake 15 riders aboard his Yamaha YZR-M1.
Championship leader Marc Marquez crashed.
