Oxfordshire captain Luke Ryan has been selected for the MCC’s two-week tour to Botswana.
Under the management of former Surrey all-rounder Graham Monkhouse, the party departed for capital Gaborone this week and will play six limited overs matches against the Botswana national side.
The Banbury left-arm spinner (pictured right), who also played for Oxford MCC Universities when at Oxford Brookes, will be running coaching sessions for local schoolchildren who would not normally have access to top level coaches.
The squad will be building on the grass-roots development programme in Botswana that has grown from just four schools and 300 children in 2007 to 131 schools and nearly 7,000 children now.
