Dave Messenger came through from back of the grid
Dave Messenger battled to a fine fifth-placed finish in the 12th round of the Alfa Romeo Championship at Rockingham Raceway.
The Eynsham driver was forced to start from the back of the grid after suffering from mechanical difficulties, but came through the field in Class E.
Tom Herbert won the race, closely followed by James Bishop, who secured the championship.
