Didcot Town joint manager Ian Concannon has saluted the goal-scoring exploits of John Mills, but recognises his form could see him head off for new pastures.
Last weekend, Mills, 25, took his tally to 15 goals from his last nine games in a 4-2 win at Clevedon Town in Division 1 South & West.
And his displays have not gone unnoticed by a number of higher league clubs, though Concannon denied Oxford United were one of them.
“I’m not surprised by the interest,” said Concannon.
“One is a Conference North club and another from Conference South, but I would rather not divulge who they are.

“We heard a rumour about him having a trial at Oxford United, which he isn’t.”
Concannon added: “He deserves the interest he is getting.
“On Saturday he had four chances and tucked away two of them.
“He’s only seven behind his total for the whole of last year. Everything he touches seems to go in.
“We don’t want him to go, but we have no control over that.
“Millsy is quite a closed book, but I think he’s enjoying his football and we hope he stays.”
Didcot will be without Lance Williams (hamstring), while Matt Clark (knee) and Ryan Brooks (hamstring) are injury doubts ahead of tomorrow’s trip to Taunton Town.
North Leigh manager Mark Gee is looking for a change in luck, starting with the visit of Yate Town.
On Saturday, the Millers were denied a last-minute 3-2 win after Callum McNish’s shot hit the inside of a post. He said: “We’re playing really well, but our performances aren’t being reflected in our league position (ninth).
“We just need to go on a bit of a run.”
North Leigh give a debut to new signing Jamie Cook, though midfielder Brian Bowles is unavailable.
Wantage Town boss Gary Ackling says his side have to cut out the defensive mistakes or pay the price.
Last weekend, they were denied a win by a late Fleet Town equaliser and Ackling stressed they have to be more canny at the back.
He said: “We keep conceding late goals. We did it against Flackwell Heath in the FA Cup and AFC Totton.
“We’re a young team, but we need to be more streetwise and close-out games.”
Wantage are likely to give youngster George Reid his bow after promoting him up from the reserves.
Their on-loan Eastleigh defender Jack Smith replaces Lee Henderson, who has been recalled by parent club Oxford City.
Karl Roberts returns after a ban.
