JOLYON Reburn made the most of home advantage to win the inaugural Rutherford Appleton Running Event (RARE) 10k.
Reburn, from Abingdon, works at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory in Harwell, where the race was staged.
The vet 40 athlete took victory in 35mins 36secs.
White Horse Harriers’ Dan Peace, from Wantage, was second in 36.25.

ABINGDON’S Owen Stepney won the Dylan Thomas Mile race in Swansea, clocking 4mins 31secs.
OXFORD City’s Harriet Kimber-Nickelson threw a personal best distance of 29.56m in the discus at the Bournemouth Open to climb to fifth position in the UK Under 13 rankings as well as breaking the club age group record.
