Oxfordshire's Eddie Pepperell slipped off the pace after a three-over-par second round in the at the ISPS Handa Wales Open.
The 23-year-old, from Abingdon, carded a treble and a double bogey in his score of 74 at Celtic Manor.
Pepperell, who was tied for seventh after round one, ended the day three over par as he tied for 55th place, but should still made the cut.
Ireland’s Shane Lowry leads by one shot from Joost Luiten and Nicolas Colsaerts after shooting a six-under-par 65.
