AN EAGLE at the last saw Oxfordshire’s Eddie Pepperell end day one of the ISPS Handa Wales Open tied for seventh place.
The Frilford Heath player, from Abingdon, fired a three on the par-five 613-yard 18th hole to complete an impressive three-under-par round of 68 at Celtic Manor.
Frenchman Joost Luiten led by one shot after an opening round of 65.
