DIRECTOR of rugby Matt Williams has called on his Chinnor team to be smartly into their stride when they take on Dorking in National 2 South at Kingsey Road tomorrow.

Chinnor lost their derby clash 28-24 at Henley last week after trailing 16-0 at half-time.

Williams experimented with positional changes against Henley, but now the likes of centre Martin Nutt and winger Jack Hayes will feature in their more accustomed roles.

Chinnor are also lifted by Jake Parker making his debut at No 8 following his loan move from Greene King IPA Championship club Cornish Pirates.

He comes into the side as a straight swap for Alfie To’oala, who starts a three-match ban after being red-carded for striking an opponent during last Saturday’s match.

Parker will be joined in the back row by flanker Ryan Long, who steps up from the bench in place of Ben Manning.

Loosehead prop Ian Stock and hooker Joe Pickett come into the starting line-up in place of Jamie Townsend and Tino Paoletti, with Simone Carloni switching to the tighthead berth.

Second row Dave McKee is back from illness, with Josh Kroman dropping out.

In the backs, Frank Jones comes in at fly half with Ed Keohane switching to full back and captain Nutt moving to the centre.

Williams said: “Last week was very good for us.

“It freshened people’s minds and losing last week was the first away game against one of the favourites.

“To come back in the fashion we did and get the losing bonus point was very pleasing.

“We have got to learn to come out of the blocks properly. We can’t afford to give teams a decent lead before we wake up.

“Once we learn to come out of the blocks properly we will be a force to be reckoned with.”

Henley Hawks have named an unchanged team for their to Lydney.

Hawks are seeking a third straight win against the promoted Forest of Dean outfit, who are coached by former Bath and England prop Duncan Bell.

Centre Piers O’Conor will miss the next two weeks on England Sevens duty, while fly half James Comben remains out with an ankle injury.

Full back Jack Robinson returns as Oxford Harlequins take on Chard at North Hinksey Lane in National 3 South West in the first meeting between the clubs.

Full back Will Sharratt moves to fly half, while Jack Avery steps to the wing.

Grove are forced to make changes for their trip to Trowbridge in South West 1 East.

With Joe Bellinger, Roger Sevier, Nick Sevier, Huw Lewis and Ben Law missing, Owen Gustafson comes in at scrum half, with Mike Davies moving to the wing and Simon Peel starting at flanker.

Coach Craig Burrows said: “We have had two tough games to start with and the target is to get the first win of the season.”
