Banbury United went through to the FA Cup second qualifying round for the first time since 2006 with a late goal from sub Arron Wickham, who had earlier missed a penalty in the 1-0 success at Bishops Cleeve.
Loanees Aidan Hawtin and Josh Shama had been given permission by Oxford United to play for Banbury, who had a quiet first half.
After the break, Darius Browne smashed against a post for Bishops Cleeve, before Banbury began to get on top .
They should have gone ahead in the 58th minute when Wickham was brought down inside the area.
But having picked himself up to take the spot-kick himself, the former Crawley Town player saw his shot saved.
He made amends in the 76th minute when Jacob Walcott crossed low from the right, Wickham smashing the ball home from ten yards.
