HORSPATH bid to retain their trophy in Sunday’s final against league rivals Shipton-under-Wychwood, who denied them the title last week.
The clash at Witney Mills CC starts at 2.30pm, with the host club facing Oxford Downs in the Wilf Bennett Trophy final at 11am.
“If we can beat another Home Counties Premier League team, it will be a great end to what’s been a great year for us,” said Horspath captain Will Eason, who has named a pretty much full-strength side.
Shipton denied promoted Horspath the Division 2 title with a 35-run victory on Saturday, but are without Simon Hole (holiday) and star bowler Anupam Sanklecha, who has returned home to India.
“It’s a shame that an Oxfordshire final is scheduled outside the season,” said Hole, who has passed the captaincy to Charlie Brain.
Horspath: W Eason (capt), R Eason, Phillips, Ali, Foster, Skelton, Conradie, Wynd, Green, Faruq, Belcher.
Shipton-under-Wychwood: J Barrett, C Miller, S Miller, Cross, Wood, Brain (capt), Senior, Hare, Seacole, Kirby, Nelson.
