OXFORDSHIRE'S top young player, Alexis Canter, won the ITF Junior Grade 3 Aphrodite Cup in Cyprus.
The 16-year-old defeated Patrik Rikl, from the Czech Republic, 6-2, 6-4.
The success for the Abingdon player will significantly boost his under 18 world junior ranking to a career high of 230.
CHOLSEY gave themselves a chance of winning Ladies Division 1 of the Oxfordshire Wilson Summer League after a 4-0 whitewash of Oxford Sports.
They need to beat Virgin Active tomorrow to have a chance of taking over top spot.

ISLIP’S Amelia Efthimiou was beaten in the final of the regional qualifiers for the Necker Cup, a competiton hosted by Virgin Active clubs across the country.
Efthimiou lost 4-0 to Emily Honor, from Bucks, in the final at the Oxfordshire Health & Racquets club.
