Kieran Sanders smashed home a superb 35-yard strike to set North Leigh on the way to a 2-1 win over high-flying AFC Totton in Southern League Division 1 South & West at Eynsham Park last night.
He also played a part in North Leigh’s second goal, providing the pass for Conor Ingram to squeeze home a left-foot shot after 51 minutes.
But, four minutes later, Michael Hopkins bundled over Totton’s Nathaniel Sherborne in the penalty area, and Liam Gilbert scored from the spot.
The visitors’ hopes were raised further on the hour when Elliott Osborne-Ricketts was sent off for a reckless tackle on the halfway line, but North Leigh’s ten men held on without undue alarm.
