ALFIE Potter will miss Oxford United’s home game against Fleetwood Town this weekend with a groin strain.
The winger pulled up in the warm-up at Dagenham & Redbridge on Saturday and is expected to be ruled out for a fortnight.
Gary Waddock, United’s head coach, said: “Hopefully it is just a game or two on the sidelines for him.
“We will monitor that closely and make sure he is right for the important games coming up.”
* TYRONE Marsh’s goal was in vain as Oxford United lost 2-1 in a development game at home to Southend United.
The striker’s neat finish opened the scoring just before the break.
Southend equalised, but Sam Long quickly won a penalty as he was brought down after a surging run.
Jon Meades, who got more valuable minutes under his belt, saw his spot-kick saved.
Southend duly went up the other end and within a minute claimed the winner.
