Bampton's Alex Dew finished third in his maiden BMW Compact Cup Championship season after recording a double podium in the final round at Cadwell Park.
Competing in his first full championship campaign since taking part in the Renault Clio Cup & Silverstone 24 hour event in 2010, Dew was runner-up in the last two races as Steve Roberts captured the title.
Dew (pictured) said: “In what has been an extremely hard-fought year, I’m over the moon to have finally sealed third in the championship.
“The season didn’t really get going for us until about round three. However as we progressed through the year so did our pace.”
Now Dew has set his sights on a title charge next year.
Final standings: 1 S Roberts 608, 2 S Voyce 582, 3 A Dew 516, 4 M Gambling 490, 5 K Denwood 486.
