Chick Wheatley played his first league match for nearly 50 years in Cowley Conservative Club A’s 2-1 victory at home to Eynsham.
And Wheatley (+100), nearly pulled off a victory as well, being edged out 100-94 by Geoff Watson (+110).
Cowley’s Arthur Coakley (+100) had a late break of 20 to pinch his frame 100-97 against Ray Gascoyne (+110).
Keith Pearce (+50) sealed the win by squeezing past Robert Watson (+30) 200-188.
