DANNY Rose is pleased to have won the trust of manager Chris Wilder after returning to Oxford United this summer.

The midfielder has started every league game this season, joining Ryan Clarke, David Hunt and Tom Newey as the U’s select group of ever-present players.

Aside from a bout of cramp which forced him off in stoppage time against Chesterfield last month, Rose has not missed a second of the action.

The run is all set to continue at AFC Wimbledon tomorrow and after signing up for a second spell at the club this summer, the 25-year-old is delighted to be handed the responsibility.

He said: “I’m happy the manager’s picking me.

“There are a lot of good midfielders here and it just shows the manager trusts me to be in there, because it’s an important part of the team.”

United will travel to the capital attempting to extend their unbeaten away league run to seven games.

Rose is hoping the formula which has worked so far will yield more success.

He said: “It will be a bit more physical and frantic, especially the first 20 minutes.

“I think we want to make it like that to unsettle the game. They will want to come out quickly at us and we’ll want to stick to our own game plan.

“We will want to mix it up, slow the game down at times to frustrate them.

“That’s the reason why we’ve been successful away, because we’ve been able to do that.”
